To the children of the modern age and beyond
By Alan Baylis
The truth is that everyone in power (by its very nature) wants to control us
and therefore secure their position. Unfortunately for those without power
they achieve this control through denying others to use the same path that led
to their position of power. It may come in the form of denying the appropriate
education or raising greatly the level needed. Either way, they will then
claim that they came to their position through a great deal of learning or
natural ability. They will also say that there is something special about
themselves that gives them the right to power, such as their money, their
looks, their inheritance or whatever else that those without power will
believe. If it must be that anyone has power over the lives and minds of
others they should be chosen according to their abilities and empathy with
those they have power over.
In the modern age they have separated the education system. For those who can
afford it there is a real education in the practical subjects such as
electronics, mathematics and computers to name a few. For those who can't
afford it there is an insubstantial education in the practical subjects with
more emphasis placed on sports and the like; which are appropriate in
moderation but do not provide information or jobs for the majority of the
participants. It is no accident that the people have not been taught that it
is with the information we put in that we make our decisions. Against all,
those with an education and those without, those in power have sanctioned a
blatantly persuasive media, which helps to divert the people away from any
serious subject. The media, far from being a messenger of the truth, creates
and stimulates false desires for unnecessary products. Through the media and
advertising the powers have made the people forget that they are what they
know and not what they own. The advertising now comes as entertainment, news
and documentaries, overwhelming the people to make them believe that they
would be less if they don't own the unnecessary products. The advertising is
produced by followers of itself, so when someone produces an advert that
condemns or lessens people for not using the product they see no harm in it.
But the effects are compounding and people become divided between rival
products, which creates tension among the people over products we don't really
need. For those people that follow the advertising, they become contentious
with the people that do not because it challenges their right to the
self-esteem they thought they had purchased.
