To the children of the modern age and beyond
By Alan Baylis
If you listen to people that tell you that you are not intelligent then that
is what you will believe. For selfish reasons the powers that be are using
their control of the media to degrade the self-image of the people they
represent. They intentionally fail to inform the people that this generation
has capabilities and knowledge within them that were unheard of until
recently. Instead they tell them that they must reach a certain level of
intelligence or they will be less able to support themselves. But the level of
intelligence required is only related to the increasingly complicated
machinery of commerce. As the intellectual demands of industry increase, so
will the amount of learning required of the support personnel increase; as
will the number of people who do not meet the standard. The people are not
reminded that if they had been born at the time when the plow was the most
complicated machine known, that they would be quite intelligent enough to
provide for themselves. The people can already operate any number of complex
systems from cars to computers and for all their efforts they are told that
they are under achieving.
It is not from a lack of learning that the people will believe the media when
it tells them that they are unlearned, because they are in fact learning
everything the media projects. The general population is taught and could
correctly name, pronounce and spell the brand names of hundreds of products
but are persuaded to believe that the elements of the periodic table are
beyond their comprehension. Instead of providing information that would
empower us to see their methods, the media overwhelms the audience with a
bottomless well of fiction, fiction that refers to fiction and facts about
fiction. The powers that be know that there are increasingly limited job
places for the more educated among the population and an educated population
without the distraction of work and money will see through the artificial
desires presented to them and potentially turn their attention to what the
powers are really doing. For this reason they are using the media to distract
a whole generation away from any serious subject, which is effectively the
same as book burning, and then use the premise that they are providing what
the people want, without telling us that they themselves choose who and how
the people are polled.
