George was happy to be getting home. It had been a busy day at the office and he was looking forward to putting his feet up and listening to his favorite radio program.

As he pushed open the gate to his garden he noticed that the cat was waiting for him as usual at the front door. Unlike some of his friends he believed that cats where more intelligent than they appeared to be. As he made it to the porch the cat was now on its hind legs and leaning on the door as if trying to push it open for him.

George opened the door and the cat rushed in and went straight to its bowl in expectation of an early meal. George removed his jacket and said a hello to his wife in the kitchen, which just came out as a low grunt. He heard the news program coming from the lounge which cheered him, as he knew this was before his program and he wasn't too late today.

As he entered the lounge and saw the radio he had to marvel at it. Such a wonderful invention he thought, from which you can hear music and people from hundreds of miles away and without wires too. He had heard recently that they were working on creating a radio with pictures just like a personal theatre. He liked the sound of it but he would have to see it to believe it.

The story on the news had changed and was now reporting the sighting of another UFO. Apparently a disk shaped object had been spotted last night and it was said to have been flying close to the town. This brought to mind another sighting George had heard a while ago in which the observer said that the craft had landed and that beings had emerged from it. Definitely alien the observer had said. They had been clothed but where there was no clothing on them the observer noted that they had absolutely no hair except for some on their heads.

Preposterous George thought to himself as he settled in his chair. Weird stories aside it was still good to be home. And with this thought he reached for a banana from the fruit bowl and relaxed while his wife gently groomed the fur on his back for lice.
